Flying Through Trees - FPV

First camping trip of 2013. Spent a few days camping out in Ocala having fun and hanging out by a camp fire. I figured I would try something new with all the video I took while flying. Here is a quick trailer with full length videos at the end. 100% GoPro Hero3 Black

Hey I was about to buy a GoPro Black. Did you experience any freezing issues with it? FT mentioned this in their new viewer response video. Is that why you crashed at the end. Great video by the way.

I have yet to have any issues with my Hero 3 black. After I did the Wifi firmware update I noticed when I turn the camera on it takes a few seconds more before it's ready/boot but that's it. My only tip is always format your SD card in the camera after every few uses and after a firmware update. I found the .bin file stays on the card after the update and will try reinstalling it self randomly on boot ups. My hero 2 also did the same thing before reformatting card after an update.

The crash at the end was all me!! I'm still working on figuring out depth perception when recording in "Wide"(170*) field of view. I also find it a little more tricky riding shot gun and flying FPV at 25+ mph. but I was coming in for a landing and was more focused on the SUV than the tree line and just didn't have the time to stop before it was to late. More practice is all I need.

Also thanks for enjoying the video!

Thanks! I wasn't sure what the update was for exactly and this is probably it. I didn't really understand what formatting a SD card is though. Could you please explain?

I looked up how to format an SD card and it is like erasing all your memory right? So all formatting does is erase the old memory and keep stuff running smoothly?

Yes, that is the non technical answer. also when you go to buy an SD card make sure it's a Class 10 32-64GB. Class 10 is about how fast things can read/write to the card and you want something big so you don't run out of space so quickly.

I will most likely be using a 64 sandisk from here:

Also, I forget, does the GoPro need a micro or a regular size SD? I will just buy one with a converter thingy if it only takes the regular size.

Also I might be buying from somewhere else based on price-but I will not buy used from e-bay! I know many people who have learned their lesson from buying from e-bay.
