What is Flite Test?

Whether it’s building a plane completely from a $1 sheet of foam board, cruising the skies with an FPV video downlink, or pushing the limits in the realm of multi rotor drones, Flite Test is transforming perceptions of thousands of people worldwide about this otherwise stuffy hobby.

Each week Flite Test releases two videos. One on Monday and one on Wednesday. Our large international audience tunes in each week to see

We need your help finding an international sales agent!

What can I do?
We’re hoping you know a sales agent or new media representative that would be a good fit. It could be as simple as writing to new media networks and letting them know your favorite YouTube show is looking for representation. Many of these agencies won’t even respond unless they are hearing about a show multiple times from multiple people.

How should they contact Flite Test?
Please have them contact us through our online contact form... HERE

What is an international sales agent?
A sales agent is a person or an agency that would represent Flite Test exclusively to sell advertising for the weekly episodes. This person, or agency, needs to have extensive experience in media buys for new media. The sales agent will be offered a straight commission.

Who is the perfect sales agent for Flite Test?
The perfect sales agent for Flite Test is someone that sees the value in the quality content that we provide. Someone who understands how to match up corporate sponsors to the right outlet. We are looking for mutually beneficial, and long term relationships. We initially started out by making videos that we liked watching. Now we’re looking to connect with an expert that has experience in taking new media publishers to the next level.

Are there qualifications for a Flite Test sales agent?
Yes. We are only interested working with sales agents that:
1. Have experience and a proven track record.
2. Have quality contacts that would value our content and audience.
3. Work with integrity and have an interest in supporting our mission.

Here are some examples of high quality sales agents that we have not had any luck getting in touch with. Maybe you can get their attention. Be kind and thoughtful... Please don’t spam or harass anyone.

Why doesn’t Flite Test want hobby industry sponsors?
We would love to have hobby industry sponsors. However there are two problems though...
1) We want to diversify our base of support in order to keep bringing Flitetest to our main audience and beyond.
2) We want to continue bringing as fair and unbiased reviews as possible.
Even though we’ve minimized our cost to create each show, the total operating budget for Flite Test is still considered high in the hobby market. We have highly effective advertising ad packages available on our website geared towards hobby industry advertisers.

Why would an international company that has nothing to do with the hobby want to sponsor Flite Test?
Our viewers are a very unique and concentrated demographic. Many manufacturers, distributors and service providers would find high value in exposure to our specific demographic. Some examples would be web hosting, technology based corporations or educational institutions.

Do you have any statistics for the show?
Over 27,500 subscribers.
Over 65 new subscribers each day.
Average 12,500 views per day.
Over 5000 likes on Facebook.
We have consistently produced over 200 episodes in just over 2 years.
We haven’t missed an episode release since we started.
We are a YouTube partner and an official YouTube show.
We won 3 ADDY awards since the show started in 2010.
Hobby King created two planes named after Josh Bixler.

What is the Flite Test vision?
We want to invite and empower people to discover this wonderful hobby. We want to provide free education to those who want to learn about the principles of flight. We want to entertain those who come across our channel... Hopefully putting a smile on their face :)

We release 2 videos per week. One on Monday and one on Wednesday. The different types of videos we produce are:

CHALLENGES
15,000-20,000 Views within 30 days

REVIEWS, PROJECTS, TIPS, BUILDS
10,000-20,000 Views within 30 days

UPDATES
8,000-12,000 Views within 30 days

Each one of the sponsor options above includes the sponsor’s logo and voice over placement at the beginning of the episode.

Example: “This episode of Flite Test is brought to you by [sponsor’s name and tagline].”
Also a link to the sponsors website will be added to the video description and the article associated with the sponsored episode on the Flite Test website.

Sorry, I can't really help with your search for a sales agent.

I am excited that you are looking to provide educational videos on aeronautics. If/when you do get a sales agent, they should appraoch Embry--Riddle Aeronatical University (ERAU) to sponsor your videos. ERAU is a major sponsor of Mat Chapman, and I believe they would be a good fit for your educational series. I'll send a note to the alumni association office to see if I can spark their interest.

You have a professional and entertaining formula. Keep to your basics as you expand into new areas and I'm sure you will continue to grow your audience.

Actually the type of vendor that could use the FliteTest show as an advertisement medium is as diverse as the members of the forum. We all have RC in common but have other likes and needs as well. We all eat, we all wear clothing, live in houses, drive cars etc. The list just goes on and on. The question is whether the central core age group of FliteTest matches the target demographics of the advertising company. The bottom line is almost ANY company in ANY industry could be a potential sponsor.

You guys are the best and your commitment to your vision is incedible. Places to maybr look for sponsorship:

Dupont - light, thing strong films (3M too, but they've already been mentioned

RedBull - Maybe drop a Felix Baumgartner action figure - sponsor an altitude contest

Digikey - with the interest in UAV, stabilization, etc. RC electronics electronics are becoming more than buy it, power it, plug it all together.

Adafruit - ditto Digikey with the addition of software and weirdness

DIY Drones - The may feel like competitors but what the heck. Chris Anderson is a crazy man with money to burn.

Tesla - It's all about the batteries. Elon Musk is richer than Chris Anderson so why not?

SpaceX - Elon Musk again.

Good luck and thanks for your great work!

If I could rate this article, I would give it a 5. You both did a fine job. I hope you find a great sales agent. I generally enjoy your videos. I wish you would do more with glow engines though. That is where my heart lies.

Have you approached the AMA, Academy of Model Aeronautics? Would seem to be a good possible sponsor. I have not heard you talk of them, do you not believe they promote and support the hobby?

Love the stats - wish you could have one that how much better quality your productions are than any possible competition. Guess they'll have to discover that themselves by watching.

Why do I never see those links you refer to in your videos. You always point to the bottom of the screen and I never see a link there or elsewhere. What could I be doing wrong?
