Please do a flight endurance challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be a good episode to talk about motor, prop, esc, battery combos for different flight performances.

The tag at the end - "If I'm innappropriate..." Flite test has always been kid friendly. That definitely crossed the line. I'm glad my kids weren't within earshot for that.

A production episode would be fun, I'm in for that!

Also, regarding an r/c flight history episode, how about Dave Herbert (NightFlyyer). He's very active on YouTube. He's been in r/c since back before proportional radios, and invented the electric tail rotor motor for rc helicopters. He's a legend!

I'm sorry about the ending. I didn't know it was offensive.
The file has been updated and the ending been cut out.
Sorry again.

David, what tail servo you use on your tricopter nowdays? I have bought about 5 of those bluebirds and they all have burned out or broke some other way. I would really like to get into multirotors, but the failing of the components have kept my flight times under 30 secs per flight. Do you think that the multiwii flight contoller could burn those servos?

Episode about video production would be interesting. Could you make also an episode or episodes about those earlier failed experiments? I mean like the original rocket plane and stuff like that. Someone commented this on youtube, could you guys make a plane that is powered by a leaf blower? I really like those crazy experiments, and would really like to see more of them because I don't personally have money and time to do stuff like that (i'm a student). That would be awesome!

Er -not David - but I had similar problems with that servo - its a good servo but maybe just not quite strong enough for that role - I use a larger but similar spec hobbyk* one now HK-752mg - so far it's held up fine and the tri seems much happier.

Thank you, I will probably buy that servo or something similar when I order something from HK and get my Tri finally flying. :-)

Although it does sound like something is not quite right if it burns out straight away.

It doesn't burn out straight away and that makes it a bit odd problem. Usually it happens after 30 secs of flight or a half hour of ground testing without props.

Tricopter shakes though the tail violently if I even touch it on ground. It's happens probably because the main structure and landing legs are somewhat loose. I think that shaking could cause the servo to burn because it is moving the tail continually from side to side.

Can you share the link to David's APM 2.5 article I can't seem to find it, the link above goes to the flitetest episode with Josh and Josh.

Thanks

With regard to how Josh designs new aircraft, it would be great if you actually follow a design through from concept to flying. There are already high, mid, low, delta, round and flying wings; a biplane; a pusher and a glider. So perhaps you could follow the design of the seaplane or a canard.

I do apologize but my OCD is making me post this...

The proper pronunciation of Gyro (we are talking about the greek lamb and beef sandwich, right?) is

yē-ˌrō

Here's an audio link for the pronunciation http://www.merriam-webster.com/audio.php?file=gyro0002&word=gyro&text=%5C%CB%88y%C4%93-%CB%8Cr%C5%8D%2C%20%CB%88zhir-%C5%8D%5C

Once again, my apologies.

Josh, Allie was very excited when I got back to IL with her t-shirt and LOVED the Facebook video message. I enjoyed the P-38 formation flying with you...and I think you actually got some footage of my first flights with the Nano QX...sweet little flyer. Thanks for making a great event even better!

Flite Test,

First, my condolences to your friend Dan and his family at Lazertoyz.

Second, thank you for all that you do. If Entertaining, Educating and Elevating the World of Flight is a mission statement, then mission accomplished. After a long break from the hobby, I'm back. Between foam and the electric technology (both efficiency and affordability) combined with the inspiration from you folks and Ed over at EA, the sky is the limit. And if David gets his way, that wont be a limit either.

Be safe and have fun,
Tommy

I have droidplanner with MultiWii Pro with GPS, telemetry in 433MHz and I can control my plane with that on the field. And it works pretty well with mission planned and so. I would like to hear from you about putting the APM on planes. Maybe you could talk about/with Trent from MyGeekShow as he does a lot of work on it to make it reliable on his scratch built plane.

Keep going with this good Podcast. Nice to listen to while modeling at work :)

Hey Austin I think that Icon A5 link is not to the version you're referring to in the podcast. This is the AS3X ultra micro version: http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/ultra-micro-icon-a5-bnf-with-as3x-technology-PKZU2380

One weird thing is that I get the email from the subscription for these podcasts, however, usually it takes several hours for the podcast to show up in iTunes... (I usually download to my iPod so I can listen on the go)

If you are subscribed to the podcast via iTunes, simply go to the FliteTest podcast in your library and click the refresh button and you can access it instantly.

The iTunes store itself only searches every few hours for new podcast episodes so there is a delay there.

Just listening to the end of this podcast about the struggle to find your plans which is a struggle that I have had it would be nice if you were to add a tab at the top of your site for just the plans. keep them linked at the bottom of their article but it would also be nice to have quick access to them from the home page of your site if it is possible and reasonable to do so.
