FPV Racing w/ MultiGP

The world of FPV racing is exploding. At the forefront of organization we have MultiGP. Their dream is to one day have FPV racing be as popular as every other sport out there.

Here are a few words from them explaining what they do...

"MultiGP (Multirotor Grand Prix) is the premier FPV (first-person view) radio-controlled racing league which hosts frequent competition-based tournaments, free-fly gatherings and casual events. Our event management assets provide our chapters with an effective process that make our events fun and rewarding."

MultiGP has taken the grass roots approach to FPV racing by allowing chapter organizers in cities across the US to engage hobbists with software and tools to help make FPV racing easier for everyone.

One of the difficult parts of organizing an FPV club is finding people to get together. MultiGP brings together like minded pilots and organizers no matter where you live. Additionally, if you are already part of a club and want to start dabbling in FPV racing, MultiGP can help get you and your friends on the right path.

Go to MultiGP.com to find out everything you could possibly want to know about what they do and how they can help you, your business, or your flying club!

We really enjoyed the fact the everyone was involved in the decision making process of setting up the course. We all walked the space as a group with everyone being able to contribute ideas to where the route should go. It prevented the course from being too difficult or easy given the skill differences between all the pilots. The racer who loves hairpin turns can get what he wants out of the course as well as the racer who loves long, fast straightaways. It kept the route dynamic and everyone walked away excited to get in the air.

The best tip we came away with was the use of these disc cones. Usually used for soccer practice, they make amazing waypoints along the track.

You can pick these up on Amazon relatively cheap. They guys from MultiGP recommend using orange and white cones as they show up best through a video signal.

Thanks again to Chris and Mike for spending the day with us and for the amazing race! Please check them out at MultiGP.com, make a profile, and get to racing!

Something tells me that the first person to install something to remotely flip their quad back upright will be lauded throughout the racing circuit.

Easy enough to do with a servo and arm mounted on top. The biggest issue is safety after a crash. Was a prop damaged, antenna or connection...
