When I first saw the krackan in the neat fair overview on flitetest I new I had to have one but I waited and waited but never saw the plans... Until now, and I can honestly say it was worthe the wait by far the krackan is my favorite scrach build buy far. When the plans were releced I looked and quickly realized the they were the biggest plans for any rc plane I had ever seen 64 pages!!! A quck solution to this problum is to only print half of the plans and cut two of all the pieses.

THE SPECS:

wingspan: 71 inches

length: 24 inches

servos:htx 900 9 gram (x2)

motors: pz 15s (x2)

esc's: 30 amp eflite(x2)

reciver: AR 600(x2)

foam: ADAMS foam board

motor mounts:1/8 plywood

props: 10 5.5 apc

battery: 2x 2200 3s or 1x 3200 3s

tires 5in dubros

flying skill: intermediot

building skill: beginner

Flight time: 10-12 mins

I tryed to build the krackan from parts I had lying around the workshop and not to buy anything above a 20$ budget. I however did not have 2 450 size motors lying around but what I did have was 2 15s' from 2 of my old parkzone warbirds. I did however use the stock esc size (30 amp) but I used a different brand (eflite) beacouse esc's were easyer to flash with the simon k firmwhare sience the motors control yaw .

here is the first krackan krackan I built (messy hair due to the fact I swam before this pic was takan) I built this one prior to the relece of the ft krackan notice the more boxy pods and paper hinged elivons. It has the same setup as my current krackan and as I found out very quickly you have to use rudder with this plane!

CONCLUTION:

pros:

.Easy build

.Good flight caricteristics

.Cool flat spins

.Large size means lots of stability

cons:

.hard to transport

.No method of breakdown

The krackan rocks it is by far one of the best flying planes I have ever flown. I is very ridgid and can do cool tricks the biggest downside I saw while testing this plane was ho hard it was to get this plane to and from the field. So the question of the day: is it worth it? of coures I would recomend this any day

RELEACE THE KRACKAN!!!!!

Nice build! There is a plane with stripes above and another with roundels and an arrow below. What,s the story there?
