"Jello killer" or how to eliminate vibrations

First of all I want to say that I'm not the inventor of this idea. I just want to share my particular design with you. Hope, it will be useful to somebody!

Many of those who involved in shooting videos from the air, know the "jello" effect arising due to vibrations, which considerably spoils the quality of the video. Sometimes is not so easy to get rid of it. I propose to solve this problem by making the steel wire rope damping platform. We'll place on it not only the GoPro but also all FPV equipment (as it well known, strong vibrations are "harmful" for the video transmitter also).

This design is quite suitable for any copter and is not tied to any particular frame. I have the MF450 Locust frame with plastic arms (DJI clones) and the central fiberglass plates. Arms do not have sufficient stiffness, so it will definately cause strong vibrations. This will be an excellent test for our anti-jello platform! And the results are perfect! No jello absolutely!

There is a step-by-step tutorial in the video below:

Also, you can follow these steps:

We need: steel rope wire ~1mm diameter (bicycle gearshift)

L-shaped aluminium profile 10x10mm

A piece of foamed PVC sheet 2mm thickness

Cut two square parts from PVC

Make a groove in the middle of the both squares

Glue one end of the wire using CA

Glue the rest square on top, align it with the bottom square and press firmly

Repeat process with the other end of the wire. You must finish with this (top view):

Make 4 such rope wire isolators. Then drill mounting holes and paint if you like.

Cut aluminium profile, drill holes and mount it on the frame

Mount rope wire dampers (you can find more detailed view in the video above)

Install equpment and you're done!

Copter is ready to fly

And, finally, the flight videos:

Thanks! Hope this article will be useful!

It would be great to see a side by side comparison of footage without the mounts as well in order to see what difference it makes.

Looks very much like Vibration Isolation Mounts from stratus-productions.com / rctestflight youtube channel. Sounds like it's worth giving a shot.
