To the FliteTest Community;

As promised by Jepson and crew, the build video before break. So before moving on through the article and video, go ahead and download the plans here;

Below is the data sheet of recommended parts as well as the link to purchase the build kit to support the program:

Alright so get all your parts cut out and read to rock n roll.  In the video it shows what parts were already assembled based on time constraints we were under with ELITE being an after school program.

First off bevel and crease all maked lines in the plans, there is a legend on the plans that tells you what to do with each line type.

Fuse together like a puzzle the back and front under wing pieces.

With jets, it is a good idea to make a liPo rig to hold in your battery, sometimes the velcro will rip off the foam board if flying in crazy maneuvers.

Place the airfoil spacers on the main bottom wing.

Glue down the servos for the ailerons, making sure that the servo horns are in the middle of the designated square cut out for optimal movement.

Mount the main bottom wing to the bottom fuselage piece.

Then proceed to tuck in the belly pan sides into the designated holes. Once you have completed the tuck, then glue down the edges.

Now insert the servos for the elevator. It doesn't matter about placement really unless you have certain sized push rods.

Tape down the wires.

Mount the airfoil wing pieces over the bottom main wing piece.  There are markings that help you align the two pieces, practice a couple times first prior to installation so it looks and fits just right.

Glue all the sections that are going to touch and fold over.

Finish up the nose cone piece.

Make sure to glue down the top airfoil wings at the top for the compression top fuselage piece to fit snug.

Doesn't matter about the angles of the stabilizers, however, the F-35 does have a slight slant to them, we just slanted them to touch the top airfoil pieces.

Here is a pic with all the gear mounted on the inside.

Close up of the nose cone construction.

This pic shows how the compression fuselage piece fits and looks along with canopy.

Example of Aileron fix with a zip tie to restrict movement with push rod.

Angle shot showing both servos setup.

Opposite side.

Behind look.

Final shot!

I love how you do the creases in your builds! It makes them look really flush also the Irish Jet! Were thinking of doing a different design! We were doing a kind of B-2 Bomber style but we want to make it look a little nicer! So we're thinking of doing the new Russian jet, the T-50! Of course we're gonna add an Irish twist to it!

Great job Jake!
It's great to see how each of the designs builds on the previous achievements (or challenges). You share a great "community design process." Take that with you and there will be no limit to what you can accomplish! I heard in the video that you all only have a chance to meet once a week. Wow, you get a ton done...
Best wishes!
