MXP230 Build

Hey guys!

I’ve been watching FPV videos online and recently got addicted to mini quads. I’ve built numerous foam board planes and even flown quads before, but never built one. It went very well and was extremely easy to build and set up. That being said, this is my build of the MXP230 with the optional long arms. I wanted to have a durable quad frame that I didn’t have to worry about breaking. The frame is made of durable G10 and the arms are 6mm thick! This thing is a tank. There are videos of guys grabbing theirs and throwing them 30 feet into the air and these frames still don’t break when they hit the ground.

ReadyMadeRC 1300mah 3S battery

The power distribution board on the bottom of the quad was a major selling feature for me. It has ports for all of the ESCs as well as a couple extra for features like the FPV transmitter. It also has built in LEDs to help with orientation.

I had actually planned to use the Flip 1.5 MultiWii flight control board for this quad, but there was some sort of problem with the board and I had the KK board sitting around, so I used it. It actually performed quite well without hardly any adjustments.

The build was so easy and straight forward it only took me an afternoon to complete. If you are wanting to get into mini quad flying, I definitely recommend this frame. It is incredibly durable and nearly impossible to break an arm. So if you don’t mind spending the money and doing a little bit of soldering, this is the frame for you.

The customer service at Xhover is outstanding and they will do anything to help you out. My power distribution board actually has two LEDs that don’t work, so I contacted Xhover through the website. Daniel at Xhover was so helpful and responded very quickly and told me he would send me another board to replace my original one.

Videos will be posted soon after my new FPV equipment comes in!

*UPDATE*

I recently made a custom carrying case to hold my quad and the batteries. I ordered the case off amazon for about $26 including the pre-cut grid foam. All I had to do wasa trace the frame on the foam, pull out the pieces, and glue the foam in place.

Does 2 batteries enough?

To be honest, no. I have ordered a couple more, but have not received them yet. If you are going to build this, I would say get at least three batteries.
