Protect your belly!!!! Your airplane belly that is. When building my skyhunter and doing a test flight, I noticed that I had a hard time gripping the plane and I started thinking about building a dolly to launch the plane. I got home afterwards and when i seen the can of plasti dip on my work bench a light bulb went off in my head...... PLASTI DIP OF COURSE!!! This stuff is like liquid heat shrink.... Used it all the time on my tools and electrical connections but a plane? Would it even work or even stick? Well, it worked perfectly like it does on anything else.

            v-------- Applying your plastidip.--------v

WARNING: I have only used this on EPP/EPO. Test a small area first!!!

R/C car guys around me are using Plasti-Dip, to waterproof their entire receiver and (coating the entire receiver and all the servo plugs). They say it easily peels off whenever they need. Maybe a good idea for guys flying off water as well.

So what is plasti-dip? I was hoping this would be a tutorial showing how you use it. does it spray on? wipe on with a brush? how long does it take to dry. Any tips on using it. Do's, Dont's etc.

I may end up shooting a video on how to use it. I work a lot so getting some free time to do videos is difficult. But there really isn't much to applying it. Just grab a brush and "paint" it on. there is also a aerosol version too but I don't know what kind of propellant they use so I feel I rather paint it on. Drying time can range from just an 1/2 hour to 4 - 5 hrs. It truly depends on the thickness of the coat. But one you use this once its almost an addiction, you will find all sorts of stuff to coat! lol

Plasti-Dip is a rubber coating originally made for dipping the handles of tools like pliers in to make the handles a bit more comfortable. People have found many different uses for it. Its pretty popular with the tuner car guys... They coat entire cars and rims in it. You can get it in a dip form or a spray can. Its available at most hardware stores.
