RC Football

To the FliteTest Community;

Hey remote control/Football fans!  We have always wondered what would it be like to fuse our passion of RC into a common sport we all know and love.  Make it a tradition here and promote our hobby to get active, beccause lets face it, our hobby requires hours of sitting around designing or building something.  So I got asked by our PE department to incorporate physical fitness into our routine. So we though about it, we all love football, how do we create something that holds a football, what would be a good and safe platform to use?   The first thing that came out of the discussion was have to use the apprentice as the platform, to easy to fly, tons of power, and safe. Next We used our engineering minds to create a harness for the football and there you have it, RC Football.

Here is the simple harness we made.

Just wrap around the football then connect the end of the harness to the servo arm.  The servo was attached to a seperate RX, small battery, and ESC.  It was then plugged into a the gear slot of the RX.  This put the drop on a team member acting as quarterback.

The throw... You can see the student behind with the controller for dropping the football.
