This specialized material, made of heat-shrinkable polymers, is employed to envelop the framework of the aircraft, offering a blend of protective, structural, and aesthetic functions. Primarily, it acts as a protective layer, shielding the aircraft's framework from external elements such as dust, moisture, and minor abrasions, thus preserving the integrity and longevity of the model. Additionally, covering film contributes significantly to the structural integrity of the airplane, providing a level of rigidity and support to the framework, crucial for maintaining aerodynamic stability during flight. Its capacity to shrink when heated allows for a tight, smooth, and seamless finish, reducing air resistance and enhancing the aircraft's overall performance. Furthermore, the covering film is available in an array of colors and designs, enabling enthusiasts to personalize their models and making them visually appealing while aiding in easy recognition and orientation during flight. Overall, covering film plays a pivotal role in the functionality, durability, and aesthetics of RC model airplanes, underscoring its importance in construction and performance.

FT Covering Film is a great way to finish off both foam and balsa model aircraft. The FT Covering Film provides great adhesion at lower temperatures, which makes it a fantastic accent coloring to foamboard models and Balsawood builds. The FT Covering Film comes in a 5 meter roll that will cover approximately 5,000 sq. in. of an aircraft, and can be adhered to EPP, FT Foam, and Maker Foam. All you simply need to apply the FT Covering Film is a covering iron or covering heat gun.

See this covering in action with some of our FT episodes.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0723/6871/7869/files/Covering-Film-1__87792.1699905839.1280.1280.jpg?v=1770317582
