Half Sheet No Waste Series Preview

Hello again everyone...

This is a brief preview of my next adventure, "Half Sheet No Waste Series".  This is my next step in attempting a workable indoor concept for the FT foamboard building method.

Here are the first three in the series:

Tops:

And bottoms:

Here are the plans that I built the protoptypes from:

The concept is very similar to my "One Sheet No Waste Series" but simplified somewhat to minimize weight.  I have not planned any hatches or landing gear.  There are no bottom panels on the wings.  The servos are 5 g.  The tail booms are skewers instead of dowels. The two twin-tail designs are three channel.  I did go to 4 channel on the flying wing partly because it has more wing area and partly because I just wanted to play with 4 channel on a wing.

These range in weight from 224g (7.9 o) to 238g (8.35) oz ready to fly.

So far I have done one short fight with each outside.  Inside trials next.

I am working on 4 channel versions of the twin tail designs.  I would have had them done except for running out of small motors and servos.  Thankfully X-Mas is close by.

I hope to have the full article by New Years.

Well, I said short.  That is it.  Just a little teaser.

Have a good holiday.  See you New Years.

Thanks. The pencil drawings that are shown above will be in the full article with a few more details added. Unfortunately I am not up to speed with printable drawings yet. Fortunately these one sheet designs are all straight lines and the dimensions can be transferred to the poster board pretty easily (probably easier than transferring from a printable plan)

I find the dimension transfers very easy, Thanks for sharing your ideas.

If you are trying to build these before the build article you may have trouble getting the wing camber right. There is a method I used that would be difficult to anticipate.
Also, I have incorrect dimensions for the 30" wing. The root end should be 1 1/2 and 1 1/2 instead of 1 3/4 for each.
