INTRO: Sleipnir FPV Platform originates in Norway and has it's name from the Norse mythology. Sleipnir is the eight-legged horse in Norse mythology. Sleipnir is Odin's steed, is the child of Loki and SvaĆ°ilfari, is described as the best of all horses, and is sometimes ridden to the location of Hel. He runs over land, water and in the air.

After making the FMZ - as shown earlier, I wanted to continue a project where i made a larger FPV Plane - and where the stability for filming in a artic envoiroment will be improved. So I decided on XPS Foam with density 400 in stead of EPS. Higher weigth, but still prefered due to its easyness when it comes to repair. And it's enormous rigidity.

The making of the wingcores are shown earlier, and so is the FMZ DIY Tailless - the new here is a new and bigger airfoil based on the MH61. We made to matrixes in plywood, and mounted them on our "burningtable".

Out came the new nice wingcores, and we decided to make one bluntnose, and one without. Wingspan for the Blunt is 191 cm and 205 cm for the "normal.

You can download PDF with the airfoil here: https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B5rQz1UJcOjWcll2SmZmaGU2ZUk/edit

Reinforcement is the single most important thing. We glue in 4 spars along the wing on the top and then several across, connecting the longitudal spars. All spars are glued in with Gorillaglue.

Here are both planes, and the Blunt staying in clamping pressure with the aluminium plates distributing the pressure equally along the spars.

In theese build videos - you can follow the build, step by step. And here is the first. Article will be updated as the build is progressing.

Wow! huge plane...
The plane already flew?
You'll have to launch using a platform, right?
