Flying the Little Bogie

Several years ago I watched the movie Empire of the Sun and became intrigued by the model glider flown in the movie. Ever since then I had in the back of my head the desire to eventually build an old time glider and convert it to electric RC. Last summer when in a hobby shop I saw the Mountain Models Little Bogie kit and decided that it would suit my needs perfectly.

I cannot emphasize enough how much I liked the quality of this kit and how enjoyable it was to build. Usually when starting a project the first thing that I do is look for a build thread for the kit I'm starting. This kit went together so quickly that I was to the point of covering the plane before I even thought to look for a build thread.

The color scheme was inspired by my daughter who requested that I put flames on my next plane after watching the movie "Hunger Games" this summer.

The first flight was challenging due to having the center of gravity too far to the aft. After adding 28 grams of weight to the nose it now flies beautifully, as you can see in the video. Bernjo
