Freewing SU-35

Hey everyone! This is my first article here on flitetest... so please be gentle. One thing that I did notice, is that there are not very many articles on edf jets. I personally love edf jets and warbirds in general, mostly jets though. I was also shocked to see that there were no articles whatsoever on the Freewing SU-35 twin 70mm edf jet. I'm hoping to rectify that a little with my article. Anyway, I received this kit from a really good friend and fellow hobbyist. As soon as I found out that the plane was on its way, I wanted to create build videos and flight videos in order to help others see just how great these edfs are. I wanted to share these videos with you.

Before I start posting the links to all my videos, I want to share with you the various electronic components that I decided to put in this airframe. As far as I know, no one else has any videos with this setup. The setup is as follows:

  1.  2 ExtremeRC Alloy CS10 EDF Units paired with HET 2W-30 brushless inrunners rated at 2200kv each. www.extremerc.com.au
  2. 2 Hobbywing Platinum 100A ESC. www.hobbypartz.com
  3. Turnigy Nano-Tech 6S 5000mah 45C-90C Lipos. www.hobbyking.com
  4. 7 Detrum 9g Servos. www.hobbypartz.com
  5. 2 Hextronic 19g MG servos. www.hobbyking.com
  6. Turnigy TH9X/FlySky T9X Trasmitter. www.hobbyking.com / www.hobbypartz.com

As soon as I unboxed this plane, I was amazed. There's a lot of detail in the manufacturing of this plane. One of the best features about this plane is the dettachable flight surfaces. There are only a few places on the airframe that require any sort of glue. The flight surfaces are held in place by bolts, which is really nice, because it is a pretty big plane and I have to dettach one of the wings for transport. When I finally put her together, I just had to get her in the air. Let me tell you, this plane is so incredibly stable! The size of the plane makes it a presence in the air, while its agily pumps nerve wracking excitement through your body. The plane has reinforced wings that can take the punishment of agile flight.

Now there are a few cons to this plane. It is EPS, but understandably it has to be because the size of the plane. Also some of the plastic pieces on the plane should've been thought up  little better. For example the trailing leg for the nose gear has a lot of slop and is held in place by the flimsiest plastic clip. But with the addition of 3 small zip-ties all is well. There may be a few other discrepancies that others may find, but personally I  didn't see many.

My opinion of this plane is extremely high. Even though I crashed my plane already, solely due to pilot error, I am on the look out to get another airframe soon. The following links are all the videos that I made on the plane. Please watch them.. let me know what you think! Rate and subscribe and just let me know... thanks.
