Portable PVC Ground Station

I have looked into many scratch built ground stations and have seen many radio transmitter with the screen mounted on the top. I didn't want to do any modifying on my dx6i so I started by buying some 1/2" pvc and some fittings. I found that the handle would work a holding a platform to the radio and then making a loop to hold all the fpv goodies including my 7" lcd screen.

Parts needed:

1/2" pvc

8: 90 degree

2: Tees

scrap piece of wood

old mouse pad for padding

Folded out the screen is tilt-able by rotating in the bottom two right angle fittings

folded up for transport

the scrap piece of wood mounted to keep the radio from moving. if you look closely you can see the pieces of mouse pad to keep from scratching

back view you can see all the fittings

to get the two tee fittings to fit between the handle I had to trim the outside to make a sung fit, also you can see some more mouse pad to keep the rig from moving.

to mount the screen I simply drilled some holes in the pvc and zipped tied through the mounts on the screen. Yes I am not using a circular polarized antenna, haven't had time to make some. That will be next project. Thanks for reading please rate and any questions are welcome.

The only deal killer for me is it appears you are covering up the majority of your Tx screen.
