Baby Blender 3D Printed Landing Gear

by BackyardRC | September 3, 2013 | (4) Posted in Projects

I've really been enjoying my baby blender but handlaunching gets a bit old after awhile. The thrill of taxiing, taking off and landing is just too much fun to pass up on. So last week I printed a set of front landing gear for my blender.

Checkout my full post at backrardRC.wordpress.com and download/print your own set from thingiverse.

Please comment below and let me know what you think! Feedback always help the next design process.

And if you like the landing gear checkout the 3D printed motor mount posts: FliteTest, BackyardRC, and Thingiverse.

Not bad! I like the bigger "tires" in the kit tho. They would probably work on that.

BTW. Great colors on your Plane. What did you use?

I used simple testors hobby paint and a brush. Standard yellow, black, and a metallic silver. The blue is still some painter's tape setup to paint the bottom wing black. I ran out of black and have just been flying it like this.

Thanks for the comments!

Thanks Flynn. I agree the wheels are too small. They just happen to be what I had around. I used the pans and not their speed build kit so I didn't use/build those wheels.

I saw thing on Thingivers a few days ago.
I will add your stuff to the collection of FT parts.

What type of printer are you using?

Thanks tophe75,

Yeah I have been adding all my prints to thingiverse and my block backyardRC.wordpress.com

I bought a Cude 3D printer from staples online. It was about $1250 USD. It's the cheapest low end 3D printer I could find. It's also made by a 3D systems a global giant in automation and printing.

If I had a bit more money I would have gone with the MakeBot 3D Replicator but it just was not in the budget.

Thanks for posting and look me up on thingiverse:
