FPV over the beach

This is my Bixler 2 FPV platform, it has a Foxtech 500mw 2.4ghz FPV system, with stock antennas :( .

I gave it eyes and a mustache for character :)

Here is my camera setup. The GoPro just rubber bands on to a peice of balsa wood on the nose. My FPV camera can be found here http://www.foxtechfpv.com/fh18c-520tvl-wide-voltage-mini-camera-ntsc-p-923.html

It is flown on one 2200 mah 3 cell. I get about a 36 minute flight on average with one battery.

I have it on the Rmilec UHF system it is a great UHF system for the price it will only work with old 72mhz Futaba radios though.

Here it is stuffed in the plane.

Here it is installed on my radio.

and here is the front of the radio.

Here is my ground station.

Here are my Fat Shark Dominators, they are really good for the price, comfortable, and the image is really clear i recommend these for any one.

Looks good! Did you have any problems with the COG? (it looks like GoPro makes it really nose-heavy

Looks very nice! Is there a reason why you have an extra FPV camera and not using the live video feed out from GoPro? I am waiting on my Video RX/TX and GoPro video/servo cable...

Since 72mhz is on the low side of VHF, & RmileC gear is running ~415-445mhz (which is on the low side of UHF) they are unrelated. You are removing the RF module from your radio (removing its 72mhz system), & adding the RmileC module which makes it now a 430mhz radio.

2.5w on 70cm ham band ought to get you a decent range LOS, but make sure you've got your call sign & contact info on there just incase you lose it.
