FireFly XXL

by notsane | November 1, 2013 | (8) Posted in Just Fun

This is a version of the FireFly created by leadfeather on RCGroups.com. A 48" wingspan and all the RC equipment mentioned in the vid ... also a 10x6 Master Airscrew prop. I built this to be a platform for night flying, so I'm looking for something that doesn't fly too fast ...

Nice! That should hold quite a few LED strips.

This is the first plane I ever scratch built. Did it with the old man. I have a real soft spot for it. Great to see it get some attention, and lovely build. Thanks.

Interesting, I spent all day building a mid engine flat $tree foam board plane to try to promote combat at our club, first version flew well with 30 ft streamer but now I'm trying to add a kf foil for extra strength in the front of the plane.

Wow!!! Great camera work. Who was handling the camera and what kind was it?

Oh, and nice plane too. ;-)

RoyBro ... my wife handled the camera (a Sony CX100). YouTube's processing removes any jitter in the video, but I think the secret is switching the focus to manual at infinity.
