My friend and I taged along to the annual BC Jeep Club Toy Run. This is a wonderful charity event held every year in November. A good day was had by all and lots of kids will now have something for under the tree.

We are both using Tricopters for filming I'm using the Bat Bone and my friend has a David type frame that he scratch built.

Hope you all enjoy the video

Have a great christmas

Really great video, makes me realise how much I want to finish my tricopter build... could you post a list of electronics inc. programming boards etc and some of the settings you use on your esc's and controllers pls...

Okay here goes:

Frame:
FT Bat bone Tri with 12" booms and the
original tricopter camera mount kit

Electronics:
Enrich power 3300mah 30c 4 cell lipo
KK2 board from rc man child comes preprogrammed with 1.6 firmware
Motors from rc man child they are pre-balanced
30 amp esc's from rc man child comes preprogrammed with Simon K
Tail servo is hitec hs-5065mg digital servo

As for settings on the board, rc man child has some good tutorials about setting up a kk2. But the one thing is you have to set it up I can tell you my setting but they may not feel right to you. You just have to fly it until it feels right.

Radio gear:
Spektrum dx7 with 7 channel full range receiver
40% expo on all channels

Propellers:
APC 8X4.5 MR props with one counter rotating

FPV gear:
Boscam goggles with built in reciever
Boscam 5.8 200mw transmitter
Blue beam airscrew antenna on the transmitter with rpsma adaptor
blue beam mad mushroom antenna on the receiver with rpsma adaptor
Gopro 3 black camera in a 3d shellz printed case
ready made rc pre made gopro 3 cable You may have to lengthen the cable also check the polarity on the wires. Fat shark may use the same plug but they are not the same polarity.

The rest is just lots of practice and trying to be as smooth as you can

No gimbal just the same tray that david uses on his copter. We do use lots of expo on our controllers to help smooth things out a bit.

Love it. I have a few tricopters and a pair of jeeps. This looks like a perfect way to spend a day. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome, this is the exact reason why I'm building a tricopter, I'm part of an off-road club and I think aerial footage is awesome!

I'm using the ones from rc man child they are pre-programmed with the Simon K firmware and work great just hook up and fly. I'm also using his motors they have no vibration out of the box at all.

Awesome stable footage. What did you use to stabilize the camera? Gimbal?
