Getting a Career in Aviation

Aviation can sometimes seem to be a world of its own. It's full of expensive machinery and clever people. How do you get in there too? Well, thankfully, educational aviation courses are a thing.

Flite Test recently got the opportunity to check out Middle Tennessee State University's Aerospace program. They have a range of great courses available from engineering, maintenance, air traffic control to, of course, pilot training. Here are videos on each of these different courses.

For those who like fixing things, a career as an Airframe and Powerplant Technician might be for you. It's all about hands-on engineering.

At MTSU, the piloting course can transform you from a total novice to a professional pilot in just four years. For an all-in-one route into flying as your day job, it's an excellent way to go.

MTSU also offers courses to train you up as an Air Traffic Controller, Dispatcher, or TRACON.

To wrap it all up, Stefan got the opportunity to fly student trainer (DA-40) with MTSU flight instructor Joseph Patterson. If you're wanting to know what it's like to be a student in the program, this is what it's all about!

If you live in the United States and want to know more about MTSU's aerospace program, make sure to check out their website to find out more. The great thing is that there are universities all around the world now offering these sorts of courses. If you're wanting to get into aviation in a big way, it might be worth researching the courses near you!
