Hobbyzone Delta Ray Montage

Hello Flite Test Community! This is my first article so go easy on me. This is a compilation of video shot using an 808 #16 Key Chain Camera with the D Lens onboard my Hobbyzone Delta Ray. Hope you enjoy!

The Hobbyzone Delta Ray is a spectacular aircraft which I have now been flying for two years, and it keeps on running! The design and the technology packed into this aricraft provide great learning characteristics and once you have the basics down, you can get an intro to aerobatics. Though aileron rolls are incredibly sluggish compared to more advanced aircraft, it still provides a good learning platform. I still bring it out to the field for others to fly and for myself to do some low flying.

The AS3X and SAFE modes provide it with very stable handling, even in advanced mode. With the motors out of the way and tucked in on the wings, you won't be breaking many propellers on this model. In fact the only thing that I've done any serious damage to is the nose. This piece I have broken off some 6 or 7 times, and I just hot glue and packing tape it back on, and it keeps on running.

The only real cons I have against this model are the batteries. Coming in at around $20 USD a piece and a 5-8 minute flight time on each, it is not such a great deal. I highly recommend purchasing some Turnigy or Zippy 2S1P 1300mAh batteries and a lead adapter from Hobby King for around $8 USD per battery. I have not done this myself, as by the time this solution had occurred to me I was already 3 LiPos in.

The Ready-to-Fly (RTF) version comes with a Spektrum DX4e, a basic radio that can actually handle 6 channels (it has two hidden ones in the 3 position mode switch and in the trainer switch). I used this radio for a while in scratchbuilt models after the Delta Ray before upgrading to a Spektrum DX6.

Overall this is a fantastic beginner model, especially for those looking to train themselves, it certainly trained me!

You can check out my complete review of the Hobbyzone Delta Ray here. Let me know what you guys think (both of the video and the review/website). Thanks again!
