I was using the recommended settings from hobbyking for awhile then changed to the settings someone else recommended. The problem only occurs when I pick up speed. I think i'll try the hobbyking settings again. Thanks for the comment.

What is your current set up? What firmware are you using? What style multi are you flying? This would help a lot to start. I have found that reflash with steveis 1.17pro2 to be the best starting point I ran factory 1.6 with my 250 quad and that thing was glitch and clunky reflashed and started at default and was like butter. Now the only thing I have changed from the default on the flash is stick scaling anda to 60 and yaw to 50 and it's perfect and holds level

Look into flashing a better firmware also as stated Kiowa mech Simonk flash the ESC will also work wonders. There is plenty on videos on tuning a kk2 throughout the Web. Good luck and keep us informed on where your at and what else you need

Another thing to consider is using ESC's flashed with Simonk firmware. That has helped alot with my jitter bug. If you are going to use it for filming you should lower your PID's, but if you are going to do stunts then you can leave them higher and up your stick scaling.

Hi Matt,

Like TJ said above. It really depends on what frame and setup you are flying as no single set of PI numbers is going to work for everything.

First thing is the factory firmware on the KK2.1 is useless. When I first started I found the old 1.5 firmware to be almost unflyable.
You really need to flash the firmware with a Steveis setup (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=367321). I'm now running V1.16 or V1.17 on all of my multirotors. Once you do this you'll find an almost magical improvement in your quad's performance.

Secondly, are you flying with self-level on or off? I've always found the self level settings are too high on the KK2 for everything I've used them on. I think the default is something like 75. Drop it to 45 and try again. You'll find the smaller the frame, the more you have to drop this setting. Set this too high and it'll shake all over the place.

Lastly the actual tuning. I personally set all the "I" levels to zero for a start. You can then start tuning the "P" settings with a clean slate. What I actually do is use the same method as I use for APM tuning. Hold the quad VERY CAREFULLY in one hand (self level turned OFF) and throttle up to hover point. Now try to manually pitch and roll the frame. If the tuning is too low the motors won't react quickly to your movements and it will feel "sluggish" in your hand. Increase them a bit at a time (5-10 points) and keep trying. Eventually the frame will feel solid in your hand; it will resist your every movement. At this point I tend to back it off 5-10% and use that as my "P" setting. The "I" I'm not so critical about. I usually set this at 50% of the "P" and then play around until I am happy. Yaw can be done the same way, it is just a bit less obvious when you've got it locked in.

Hope this helps.
Mike

I fly multiwii not kkboard. I got this result on my tricopter when a prop is out of balance.

Hi, instead to give any possible setup, (may be useless because different frames, motors and props react different to any particular setup) I recommend you read this article "P, I (and D) gains in a nutshell" is really nice and has the information you need to be able to set your gains

Update the firmware on your board. If you have just the kk2.0 then the newest is v1.6+++ rev3. It fixed all of my problems when I updated. Best of luck to you.
