LHI H280 (Emax Nighthawk 250 Clone) Drone REVIEW

A little while ago I accidently destroyed my FT Versacopter after smashing into a pole. At full speed. While flying rather aggressively. I learned my lesson and decided to try and find a cheap frame I could use. That brought me to Amazon and the $18 LHI H280 250mm frame.

With 3mm arms and being full carbon-fiber, it seemed to be the exact thing I was looking for. With parental permission and a few clicks it was on my doorstep by Monday (it was ordered on Saturday about 9 p.m.)

Now me being super excitable when it comes to things that fly, as well as not thinking I would write this article then, I skipped any kind of documetation of the build process and dove right in. As the title states it is an Emax nighthawk 250 clone and as such a build video of that frame will suffice for this frame. Anyway here is a picture of the final product.

As you can see, there is no camera (I don't have any FPV gear at this time.), or battery. (Taken off for this pic)
What there is you ask? A solid frame that seems very durable.

In flight it is very stable and easy to control (At least with my CleanFlight settings) perfect for a beginner such as myself. I think Josh B. did a very good job with the Naze32 rev6 CF setup video.

I suppose I should tell you what I put inside the frame... For the RX there is a Spektrum AR610 DSMX, The TX is a Spektrum DX6i. Motors and ESC's come from the Power Pack E (Good) available on the FliteTest store. Flight control is done with a Naze32 rev6 running the latest CleanFlight firmware as of this being written (2/21/2017). The power distribution board is from Luminier and the props are DAL 5045 tri-blades.

Time for some pics!

This frame has proven its durability when I plowed into the grond after a failed flip the only damage was some broken props. Overall I think this is a great budget frame, Do I think its Luminier quality? Well I dont know, I have never had a Luminier frame and therfore don't think I'm allowed to comment on that. But for $18 I don't think you can go wrong! Easy to build, easy to fly (with my setup at least), and very durable have me hooked on quads now. Speaking of quads, I think I'm going to put a battery through mine now.

(Battery is a 3s 1800mah)

Thanks for reading!
