MF-x36 JEPSON (FREE PLANS)

To The FliteTest Community;

This article features our very own 8th grade student Jake Jepson who designed, created, tested, and his very own scratch build aircraft called the MF-x36 JEPSON.

Jake began the project about a month back, wanting to create from CAD to Maiden the x-36 seen here;

As he was designing the plane on CAD, he found himself moving into a direction that enabled him to come up with his own twist, thus calling it the JEPSON.  He did an amazing job on the CAD side of the design which allowed for a smooth transistion to the laser cutter.  After putting the plane together, he was very proud that everything fit and the plane looked great.  It was time now to go and maiden his creation.

And look, the plane flew amazing, CG was right on and it was a perfect floated for him to get the hang of flying on.

Jake was very pleased that his plane worked and he was able to make a mark on MESArcFF forever.  He is also excited to release the plans for all to download and play around with.  Below are two PDF downloads, one in FULL SIZE the other in TILED.  Download, have fun, and please make sure to share any of your MESA builds with us, we like to place you plane builds on our fan wall!

Very nice build! Great video sequence - nice to see the extended footage of the buddy box training, plus design & handling observations afterwards. Though you didn't mention it, it looks like the plane did well in the wind too. Win, win, win!

great plane you should take them down to a club so they can see some larger planes that you can work your way up to (e.g.) glow and petrol powered planes
