My "David Windestål inspired" GoPro cockpit!

by GFergy | April 7, 2013 | (32) Posted in Just Fun

After seeing David's P-51 Mustang FPV project, I knew my Art-Tech T-6 Texan could support the weight of my GoPro.

I fabricated a cockpit using the ever-popular Dollar Tree Foam Board and hot glue!

My first flight was truely just a test, really. It flew remarkably well as the weight is pretty much right on the CoG. As you can see in the video, my field isn't quite flight-ready, but I took her up anyway! I just couldn't resist!

Just a note: everything survived the not-so-smooth landing unscathed!

Superb, I love it. Most original and well executed.

Brilliant! It would be one thing to have the control stick working, but to have the throttle arms working too is shear genius!

If you were to post this on YouTube with just the on board footage and title stating the plane crashed, there would be a heck of a lot of people fooled.

so neat ,I'd like to make cockpit videos using just a 808 key chain camera just for effect. Attach the camera to rudder servo

Yes, the camera pan servo is linked to the rudder. I also have a switch that will give me manual control with a potentiometer.
