Plane ditches and crasches in water - saved by HK skipper.
My Acrowot RC plane runs out of power, ditches in a lake and is being saved by Hobbyking Skipper! :-D

I made the horrible misstake of setting my battery telemetry to a 3-cell battery, but this time i was running on a 4-cell. This meant i got no warning when the total voltage went under a critical level...

Just when i took off i felt something was wrong and tryed to go around and land.
Unfortunately, the power was not enough. I aimed for some high sea grass near the water line for a soft landning. I missed and undershoot, and crash landed in the water, about 4-5 meter out.

Lucky enough i had my good friend Roger Wallentin and his Hobbyking skipper with me. His Skipper managed to go around in the water and was pushin the plane toward the beach, avoiding all the treacherous sea grass where i would have been stuck.
My electronics was still working so we were using my rudder as a water rudder making everythig ever so simple.

Went home with a good story and a wet plane - but none of the electronics seams to have taken damage, they never really were submerged anyway...

Hope you like my story and learn something from it..

Cute story, the sea plane sounded almost grumpy skimming around there.

Yes it is :-) And also a good lesson i think...at least for me. I think its the third time ive forgot to set telemetry settings to correct voltage when i change from 3 to 4 cell. I sincerly hope this was the last time..

"The Little Skipper That Could". It's just like a children's story.
