Project Range Improvement - DX6i ORX 7ch range mod

by RCTV-UK | April 9, 2014 | (0) Posted in Projects

In this the second in our 2.4Ghz range testing and improvement series Malc takes the modified Spektrum DX6i and 7ch ORX to the testing area to see if and how much the signal has improved. Now while 17 yards might not sound like much but in Range Check mode that equates to a fair bit of range. In the penultimate test we will see how far this set up will go in UK power mode.

Check out the links below to find the items used in these tests.

I brought the 2.4Ghz RHCP Antenna's from  http://www.tecnic.co.uk They have some very cool items and the price and delivery was great too.

Here is the link for the U.FL to RP SMA/ SMA leads on ebay (make sure you get the length you need) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281115715732?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

and finally here is the link for the Hobbyking 7ch RX I have to say even if you are not looking to do these mods this RX is very good.
