Q450 hobbyking quadframe

After testing the frame for quite a while around 4 months i have come to the conclusion that this frame is absolutely perfect i am in love with this frame its strong very forgiving and most importantly CHEAP!! it flies great as a sport type quad and as a small fpv platform there are so many setups you can put on this quad witch makes it extremely versatile its light weight and down right fun i have run mine with the kk2 multiwii naza and all works perfectly and even with some vibrations the quad seems to soak them up very well its quiet easy to throw your gopro and small fpv setup on it and fly around while getting some great shots and basically the quad is only limited with how much you want to invest into it and your skill level it works great as a first quadcopter or even something for a person with a lot of experience at the moment im running the following setup:

4x ntm 1200kv 28/26 seris brushless motors

4x turnigy plush 30amp ecs's

4x 9x4.7 slowfly props

1x multiwii 328p ( recommend the kk2 if you just staring out as the multiwii can be harder to set up )

2200mah 3cell 35c turnigy lipo battery

250mw 5.8ghz with a clotherleaf antenna

Gopro and security cam 2000

i am also using frsky to control with the 9x with frsky diy module with a larger antenna with this whole set up u have over 2km range and 12min flying time

if you are considering buying this frame be sure to purchase more than one as the arms are quite brittle and can break on hard crashes at $11.00 australian they are very cheap personally i use the frame with the integrate power distribution board and then buy the one with out the distribution bored for the spare arms if you are a more experienced pilot you may not need the extra parts but every one crashes and they prove hard to glue up all in all i will continue to fly this frame and set up as long a i can this frame is sure to grow with you as you get better and better here are some links to flight video on board the Q450 most showing the durability of it with some big crashes:

These quad are not a professional kit these in my eyes are a sport quad or light fpv the bare basics go pro board camera and a transmitter there fast and fun to do those superman like fpv fun shots its not going to be somthing you want to do heavy lifting with even though ive had pretty great power out of mine .

thanks

Sorry to say that, but flying next to the high voltage transformers and power lines might not be the best example - otherwise great flying, can't wait until my parts arrive... Cheers Arend

i have lernt the hard way a while back flying a homemade stick plane were the stick was a piece of alloy square pipe it landed in the power station its self after loseing control it was followed by a big bang a scared me a bolt of electricity and my planes tale on fire i do not fly planes there anymore it was a wake up call but the quadcopter isnt big enough to touch more than one line and i dont fly over the power station anymore

also i have lets say landed a plane on the rail way lines witch did not end well
story but i realise how dumb it was to fly bigger planes in my area so i stopped

sometime next to a high voltage transformer is the only place to fly.. Would like to see you face when the kids fly kites there in the rain..
