Mini T-28 DIY Replacement Engine Cowling

I enjoy flying my mini Trojan so much that I had nearlly drained my LiPo pack in several flights more than I can remember. On one sunny morning I flew my mini Trojan at tree-top level and unfortunately it blended with the surroundings and I lost sight of the plane, so I ended up nose diving the plane and the end result was a broken prop, shattered engine cowling and a clean break on the wing, not to mentione a hurt pride LOL!

Out of Sight.

Due to the gray color of the plane and the urban location of my local flying field, the color of the plane often blended with the background, this prompted me to change the color and repaint the plane Yellow. Stripped off the stickers.

Shattered.

I also rebuilt the nearly shattered firewall, due to the lack of availability, this was my only option.

After I repainted the plane yellow, I was left with an airdragging engine cowl-less plane... stocks are out at my local hobby shop so a little enginuity is needed.

The Soda Connection.

An empty soda bottle was the first thing that came-up in my mind.

Cut-down to length based on the original cowl size.

Primed white.

Finalized with yellow.

And installed.

Even my son loves the mini Trojan!

Happy Flying!
