Looks like a tough, fun plane. What motor and prop size would you recommend for slow flying?

Slow flying is setting it up light weight and going with at least a 1600kv motor on the small side we stock them.

I about fainted when you started kicking the plane. THAT is a tough little guy, there. I totally want one. Been to the SBA website and I sure like what I'm seeing. Heck, I have a motor and stuff all ready. Good timing, too. Come the first of Jan I "was" about to order some other gear, but now I'm looking at that Spark really hard. Fits all my criteria except one...
Do you think this would be a decent trainer ?? I'm still at a struggling yank and bank level. Sure looked like an easy fly, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks, guys. Rick

Rick yes if you build it light it will be a floater if you build it a bit heaver with more motor you have some fun on your hands. Was designed to be great all around flying plane.

That is what got my attention the most, I think. This guy can scale-up. I went back and saw the next video on the plane, which I'd missed the first time, and got more answers. My goal is a decent FPV platform.. down the road a ways, like summer. I've been concerned that I'd never find a plane that would spend more time flying than being repaired. I crash a lot...LOL
Thanx again, Rick

Did the plane used in your durability test have the laminate film installed? What are the advantages / disadvantages of using the laminate film? Matt mentioned in one of the videos that he didn't want the laminate film on his build, so that had me curious.

It was only rubber coated. He just loves the rubber coating but mine is covered in lam. Lam is for a faster plane build with our cobra setup but if you want a lighter slower plane you can do the plastic coat it will slow down faster and top end drops a little. either is great there both fun to fly and you really can't go wrong with either setup just depends on how you like to fly.

Thanks for the quick reply. Wasn't expecting that! I want to build an FPV version that can also carry a Mobius. Is that payload doable? What would be your build recommendation for that kind of set up, in regards to laminate versus rubber coating, motor, prop, ESC...?

Watch the full build tutorial on my personal setup. Plus on the listing on my website i have on the right side and the bottom recommended gear to go along. Feel free to email me at info@stoneblueairlines.com if you want to chat more about the plane and setup. We also offer custom builds.
