Sj100 Camera review

The Sj100 is a great action camera that will not break the bank.  It can be purchased online with a 40gb micro sd card for under $100.

I Purchased this camera last October for $65 on amazon looking for a cheap HD camera to put on my DTF planes.  When the package arrived I was amazed  with not only the size and quality of camera but also by all of the accessories that came it.

Not only did this camera come with many mounting options, but it also came with a waterproof case good to 30m.  Here are the cameras specs:

I have used this camera on many flights.  My last flight was early in January on a very cold and snowy day. It ended tragically when the blunt nose versa it was attached to hit a sapling at a high rate of speed sending the camera deep beneath the 2’ of powder snow.  Knowing there was no chance I was going to find the camera I patiently waited until spring, and much to my amusement found it several months later. The camera was in its waterproof case, and surprisingly it not only worked, but still had full battery and footage from the epic crash after spending 2 months under the snow in sub-zero weather.

Here is some footage from a couple of flights on a sunny and cloudy day to compare the quality of picture, and of course the moment right before the crash.

This camera is cheap, it is very rugged and the picture quality is very clear. You can not use the camera for FPV, but if your looking for  a way to capture some arial video without a large investment this is a great option.

Great review sounds like you are happy with it one thing I could not find ,is the weight with battery and water case on it ,that would help if you have time to weight it ,thanks for sharing.

Good article. I don't think you need to Pay $400 for a camera to use for RC unless your a professional photographer. It's nice to see other options.
Wouldn't the Mobius be a better choice for the price since you can use it for FPV?

Looks like a Liquid Image EGO 727 clone (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Liquid-Image-Ego-Action-Camera/dp/B008O35528/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1428940454&sr=1-2&keywords=Liquid+Image)
