Printing your own skins is a superb way of bringing a lot of character and style to your foam board airplanes without the need for paint or an airbrush. Here is an awesome collection of great looking community builds for your daily dose of Flite Test inspiration!
One of the most epic collections of WW1 style fighter's we've ever seen came together at Flite Fest 2016. These models are FT Bloody Barrons that you can pick up at the FT Store. The authentic camo on these simple birds looks so good. You can download all of the skins designed for this 'Gotha Gaggle' of Barrons here.
It doesn't just have to be WW1 that looks colourful as well as epic, this FT Storch by Rasterize on the FT Forum is dressed in a complex desert camo scheme. This WW2 short take-off and landing (STOL) plane looks the business.
This would have taken an age, and much skill, to achieve with an airbrush. All you need is a printer and you can download and print this very same skin for your FT Storch.
This FT Mini Mustang skin, also by Rasterize, is really a work of art. It would look just as good hanging on a wall as up in the sky.
Every angle is covered. With the addition of a scale looking spinner, the foam board model comes alive.
Details like the canopy are intricately recreated. Hues of USAF green, panel lines and weathering all combine to create a model you can be proud of.
