In this episode of Flite Test Josh and Josh review the new Hobbyking flying wings! The Bonzi and the Tek Sumo are two very stable and versatile flying wings that we enjoy flying. Weather it's combat or FPV these things take a beating and just keep going. Make sure you take note of our Goop tip that will prolong the integrity of your EPP planes. Watch the review and tell us what YOU think. Here is a link to the Goop that we used...

Does the goop work for the Swift as well?

Goop will work for any EPP plane (and many other kinds of foam too)

Has anyone tried any alternative to amazing goop? It is almost cheaper for me to buy a whole new wing than to buy a tube of amazing goop over here in aus!

Hello my fellow ANZAC! I used Selleys "Shoe Glue" from Mitre10 in NZ. I thinned it 50:50 with terps, and it only cost me $10. It smells and looks just like Aidos F2 (also a contact adhesive) so I would have just used that if I'd known.
On the shoe glue pack is says that it doesn't work for polypropylene plastic (EPP), however you aren't using it as a glue so just ignore that.
ps. the results were great, the leading edge is super flexible now.

It works great for gluing epp foam, I used it to build my pop wings.

Hi there.

I'm from Germany and we can't get goop over here (by the way, is it possible they have a new packaging?).
But we can get Shoe Goo.
Will that do the same job?

Bonsai... I am having great fun with this aircraft. Except for putting the Receiver and Esc on top it is exactly as spec. Oh, and I made my own push-rods, theirs are unreliable. So I am running a tiny Turnigy 1811-2900 turning a 5x3 prop and an 8amp esc; and using 2s 500mah batteries. Even so, I have had to add about 10g to the nose for CG. In light wind she will happily cruise around at 40% throttle for c.10 minutes with these lipos. YES the foam will snap if treated roughly. Anyway, overall: 10 out of 10.

When I was deciding to buy this super-cheap model and checked out the FT 'review' I was dismayed to find it almost completely irrelevant to me because they more or less built their own models on the HobbyKing airframes, when what I wanted to know was what the model, as spec'd by HobbyKing, behaved like.

Oh, and another thing, I found that the simplest, most elegant, and prettiest solution to managing the wires was to lay them out nicely and hot glue them to the top of the wing, generally in two or three strategic places.
