TLAR Drone FPV maiden!

by Corsair2014 | May 27, 2013 | (5) Posted in Just Fun

After much testing and unfortunate events, I FINALLLYYYY got to fly FPV! It was short lived, only 4 minutes because I crashed lol. But while I got to fly, it was amazing.

This video covers two days, from FPV link testing to my actual first FPV flights.

Enjoy!

The TLAR Drone is being rebuilt as we speak. Next post will cover that in detail.

you really need several more inches of wing on each side. With this same payload I would add from 6 to 10 inches to each end of the wing and then increase the length of your tail boom while also reducing the wing chord about 2 inches. The longer narrower wing will create a more normal flight characteristic rather than the "wallowing" that the stubby wing with the big chord is creating.. If you add to the wing, 7-10 degrees of up angle from the join, it will really help. You won't have to be super accurate symmetrically as you can trim out the variances with a good radio.

This is a really good first effort and you electronics package looks like the right stuff. Good job.

Thanks! yeah i know i had the wings longerr but i cut them shorter because i wanted it small and agile, and because i didnt know how powerful the motor would be. Next build will use a little bit thinner and longer wings
