Y6 Part II

I have got closer to finishing the Y6, but still not close enough to fly it :-(.

So i have illustrated what i have done since part I, which consists of mounting the landing gear, BEC, Camera & Gimble.

The landing gear is designed for a DJI F450 of F550, but is so versatile it can be adopted for most craft, and i bought it from here.

Once mounted the Landing skids give it the height i need for clearance for the Camera Gimble.

The other advantage i have, which i hope is true in practice, is that the Gimble has an ant-vibration mount, and this in turn is mounted to the skids, with another set of shock absorbers. This should give me very good vibration free video.

The gimble was a bargain, and can be bought from Here, it seems to work really well, time will tell :-).

The ESC's i used all are OPTO which means that there is no BEC from the ESC to power the flight controller or Receiver. The fix this i am using a switching BEC as shown, that can give up-to 3A @ 5V.

This BEC has an advantage that it can have it's output adjusted by the small pot, so if your running it across a long piece of wire, you can compensate for losses across the wire by adjusting the out put to 5V where it needs it.

The next part will be flying the Y6, as i came to put the props on i found i was missing 2 left-hand turning props :-() so they are on order, meanwhile i can clean up the wiring etc..
