Beginner helicopter & drone flyer (Pro Videographer wannabe ... actually, I want to be like Eric :-) - I also like skiing, cycling and watching movies ... love movies.

I was born and raised on the South Shore of Montreal (Saint-Bruno to be precise) and left my parents' place when I was 26. I started seeing videos of RC helicopters and found it really cool. After a few years, I met my wife and settled down and had a son and still had those images of the RC helicopters in my head. I started flying small, coaxial helicopters to get a feel of it. Then I migrated to a three-axis, Flybarless balance system (BlitZRC Contra) and failed miserably to fly it with ease. Crashed a few times, my funds were running low and couldn't get any spare parts. So that ended my first stab at it. Now, with the new "training wheels" type of platforms (Blade 350 QX3 AP for example), I'd like to see how I can get into aerial photography. Here's why; 6 years ago, I started filming my son while he was skiing and people liked my videos so I also brought my camera while I went cycling with the boyz. I am now the official videographer for our skiing and cycling trips and I love it. I can see myself flying a drone following my son while he's skiing down the slope or the boyz taking a curve with a spectacular view in the background. I also see myself helping the ski resort get good aerial footage of their mountain for their publicity and even help them with the maintenance of their pylon infrastructure. I just want to fly. I'm now practicing my flights with the Nano Quad (Hubsan X4 H107C) and I figure that by the time I get enough funds pilled up - in a few years at the time of this post (Jan 2015) :-(, I'd be able to efficiently fly the drone to get the smooth shots Eric is always talking about - Quicker is not better - well maybe not as well as Eric but I'll surely try. Like I said; I just want to fly.
