Newbie Transmitter Hack! (Limiter Discs)

It’s been a while since Jen has flown, so we decided to have her fly a Tiny Trainer using limiter discs.

Josh used limiter discs to train young kids to fly at his flying ministry before Flite Test. The discs are placed on top of the gimbals and keep movement within a certain area.

Limiter discs are designed to train your muscle memory and keep you from spiking the airplane. They’re a great way to help you learn to fly if you don’t have a buddy box available, because they give you the freedom to fly while limiting the things that could get you into trouble.

To make limiter discs, measure the diameter of your gimbals. Cut a small slot for the throttle and a D shape for the right stick. The sizes you cut can vary based on how much or how little throw you want.

Limiter discs are easy to install using hot glue. If you want to be able to remove them in the future, try using double-sided tape.
