nerdnic | Bench Test - NTM 3536 1800kv 4s/6s

Hi Friends! Time for some bench testing!

You might remember this motor from the FT speed challenge episode (http://www.flitetest.com/articles/viewer-request-speed-challenge) where David pushes his Spitfire over 100mph. I ordered this motor the moment I saw this episode and have been trying to push it to the limits ever since. What you’re about to see is not a normal test. I’m not interested in finding the longevity sweet spot with some stale 3w per gram formula.

I have one goal in mind, how far can I push this motor?

TEST SETUP

MOTOR
NTM 3536 1800kv

PROP
7x7
5.25x6.25

BATTERY
Turnigy nano-tech 1550mah 6S 65c
Graphene 2200mAh 4S 65C

RESULTS

  6S 4S
VOLTS            3.58             3.85
WATTS 1471 1244
AMPS 67 79
RPM 31500 21100
MPH 186 140
TEMP 101 106

This motor is a beast! I run it on my 800mm planes with the 4s 7x7 setup and get over 120mph. I was really blown away by the level of performance the 6s setup produced. I can’t wait to try this on my upcoming nnHotliner design.

Do you have a motor you’d like to see me test? Leave a comment and let me know! Until then, I’ll see you next time!
