TLAR Drone V1.1 death and lessons learned

Yep… it was short lived as well. The TLAR Drone v1.1 enters the graveyard, with less than 30 minutes of actual flight time. Source of death: Radio lockout

So the lockout occurred from using an ultra-lite (short range) spektrum receiver. My fpv video frequency, 900mhz, has a close harmonic to 2.4ghz (my control link) which can cause some interference. The micro receiver is not senisitive enough, meaning it was easily overpowered by the 900mhz video link, which ‘drowned out’ the control inputs. The plane stayed in its last known control input (a diving turn) and smashed into the ground.

Oh well, lessons learned and new designs coming very soon. (This one with a better radio system)
