Twin Jet Cruzer Speed Build

 Jets tape into the nacelles

What about a Twin Jet Cruiser

Love Josh's design hope he doesn't mind if I mess with it a little ? My apologies in advance for using Napoleon units on the drawing :)

Under slunk nacelles would be simpler to engineer I think

Blended Canberra nacelles look great but make the wing a bit complex

May be blend the nacelles into the wings like a Canbera so they are not under slung as above. The spar would have to be revised as the EDF cuts through it, the nacelle could be made structural to compensate for the 2 peice spar

Perhaps this would work? looks like the HK Alloy 50mm fits in the wing nicely. May be the aeleron should extend  into the air flow from the EDF? or would this give them way to much autority?

The power requirements are similar go for a 2.2Ah 4S Nano Tech is a great battery very little voltage sag under load. Should give 1.1 Kgs(2.4 Lbs) static thrust, should be better than 1:1 mass / thrust ratio.

In my experiance with jets it should go like scalded cat.

This might work a couple of carbon spars in the airflow crossing each end of the EDF

Does anyone have an idea regarding thrust angle?

This video shows some interesting charecteristics with thrust tubes

Power Options

Hobbyking 50mm Alloy EDF V2 4200kv (4s Version)

Ran these on the thrust rig at the week end they are very well balanced and on the 4S Nano Tech 2200 mAh they push alsmost 600grams a peice

Hobbyking 50mm Alloy EDF V2 4200kv (4s Version)

The Hobbyking Alloy EDF series are pre-assembled and dynamically balanced making them simple and easy to fit, no unit assembly is required. As well as high power, these fans have excellent cooling and run so smoothly, the sound is amazing, there is also no housing distortion unlike plastic fans. This nice quality, powerful fan is a great way to upgrade your foamy 50mm jet to a missile in around an hour!

Features:
Pre-assembled
Factory dynamically balanced
High power with superior cooling
High quality construction
Fully servicable
Fast to fit
No housing distortion

Specs:
Rotor Diameter: 50mm 5 Blade
Outer Diameter: 54.5mm
Weight: 85g with 2mm Connectors
Motor: 20-40 Brushless Inrunner 4200kv

EDF64 with ADH300 Motor Assembled  252W

EDF64 with ADH300 Motor Assembled 252W(4300kv)
This unit has the ADH300 motor, producing more power, yet drawing more current.
If your plane can take a larger battery (2200mAh+) then the ADH300 motor would be a suitable option.
