Q&A

What's the book about?

The book is about everything you should know before flying an RC airplane.

What's included in it?

There are five chapters. These cover choosing your first airplane, electronics and power systems, aerodynamics, hot to fly and crashing. There is a ton of helpful information, a forward by Josh Bixler and bonus content.

How big is it?

Literally, in terms of specifications, it's 9 x 6 inches. In terms of how long it is, there are 76 pages packed with juicy RC content.

Are there pictures?

Yes - a ton! There's beautiful custom imagery shot of our models, community members planes and action from the Flite Fests of the last few years. There are also finely detailed illustrations in every chapter which make the book more enjoyable and engaging to read.

Who's it for?

This book is for anyone who has an interest in RC. As you might expect, it's ideal for newbies - but really anyone can read the book and gain a lot of value from its content.

What age is it for?

Really, anyone who can read can enjoy this book. The text has been written to appeal to all ages, young and old. As we wanted to create a product that could be handed to a friend or family member, we made sure that the book is accessible and easy to read. Even the youngest kids can enjoy the imagery and illustrations!

Would it make a good gift?

Absolutely! Combining a copy of the book with a Flite Test Gift Card or Speedbuild kit of your choice would make an epic present for anyone!

Will there be other books in the future?

Yes! We plan on producing more books on other subjects such as scratch building and design, quad racing, and drones. If you like this original book, let us know. We'll be updating it with revised versions whilst looking to build on it with new works.

This doesn't look like a book I would like to buy. Checking with another seller and looking inside, there does not seem to be information about wing area, tail moment (so the plane is more or less sensitive to elevator and rudder) or other information that might be helpful to a NEW modeler who is trying to build a sucessful, flying, first airplane. In my humble opinion.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. We hope to develop other books covering the more advanced subjects of designing and building your own airplanes in the future. For the new RC pilot, we've designed this book to be the perfect primer for their entry to the hobby. Think of it as an RC beginner series in print form. We hope it will make a great foundational layer. Thanks!
