Inspired by what we learned from the Tiny Trainer, the Simple Cub is built to grow with you. Start simple with 3-channel flight, then easily upgrade to 4-channel control as your skills advance—without building a new wing. We also recognized how important landing gear is for skill development and pure enjoyment, so the Simple Cub includes removable landing gear. Fly it from grass, convert it to a belly-lander, or install optional floats designed specifically for this aircraft and take to the water.

The FT Simple Cub is exceptionally easy to build and fly. In its simplest form, it requires only 11 foam pieces and can be completed in under two hours, making it one of the most approachable builds we’ve ever created. Drawing inspiration from beloved designs like the Horizon Super Cub LP and the Blu Baby, this aircraft honors their legacy while adding Flite Test versatility and creativity.

Upgrading to ailerons takes just 15 minutes and unlocks exciting possibilities like flaperons, aerobatics, and even creative mods. Want to drop foam bombs for target practice? The same servo can double as a drop mechanism—all while maintaining the Cub’s gentle, forgiving flight characteristics.
