In this episode, we have an awesome time with Nic Lechner or "Nerd Nic" as he is known on the Flite Test forums and site. We talk about his experience doing some awesome Flite Test Foam airplane designs, how he goes about the design process and how others can get into making or modifying their own planes as well.

Nic, way to go, man. I'm sure you're an inspiration to more than you realize and I would bet there are more every day. Your can-do attitude gave me the confidence to get into designing, too. I wish you nothing but the best.

Great podcast everyone, inspired to try new things. I was not aware of nerdnic before, will definitely be following now - great looking a-10, seriously engineered. Also, looking forward to the P-38.

Great podcast. I like the format of highlighting and interviewing contributors. It was a pleasure hearing from Nic because I have been following his articles. Nic - Great planes! Great tips! Thanks for your contributions. Now scale up the A-10 for 70 mm EDF's and I'm in. David

As humble as Nic is, I have been watching him fly his planes at our field for the last 6 months and have never ceased to be amazed. Even when walking back with mangled deceleration event "parts" in his hands, he's already saying "I can fix this, I know what happened, I know exactly what to do… anybody bring a soldering iron?". Glad FT is highlighting his effort, contribution and Obi-Wan level talent. Go nn!
