Coax Cable ?

This is a very short article about Coax cable . Which is written in the hope to help people soldering into/wring/ modifying coaxial cable

Coax cable ( coaxial cable in long ) is a wire used for high frequency electronics . such as Antenna's , FPV gear ( video wiring or transmission ).

The key feature is it is 3-4 layers . The inner core is the transmittion cable ( positive as it were ) , this is surrounded by an insulation material and then a wire shield        ( ground ) which acts as a barrier to stop the high frequencies being lost .

The reason for this is because when the signal is high frequency the electrons within the wire that carry the charge ( responsible for letting electricity " flow " ) are pushed to the outside of the wire . This is because they " bump into " each other in the centre so spread to the outside . The shield layer is necessary to stop the frequency / energy / charge as it were escaping.

In order to solder into this wire it is important that your positive signal is shielded to reduce losses . Secondly do not let the inner core touch the outer as this will disapate the signal ( short circuit) . Applications for Coax cable include Antenna wiring, Video cables such as FPV ( when looking at the field of aero modelling) .

It would be good to keep the inner core insulated and add foil around this to protect the wore from RFI interference.

Short but informative. I like it. I don't know enough about this to find mistakes (if any) :).
