The Ding Bat

Some times I get a crazy idea and instead of saying naa that won't work I just try it. I'm  using things I've got laying around including other planes I've scraped out.  This gives me something to accomplish and it keeps my mind sharp and I'm by no means dull...

UPDATE:
You know how you get something and it seems that it's gotta curse or the devil with in just can't find out why ? Well after constant failure I put the receiver on something else and was adjusting things on my radio and had to take a quick call and found that after being on for about 2 mins things started jumping for a second about every 15 seconds, chanced out everything to make sure and a crazy receiver man who would have thunk it ??? BEWARE of electronic GREMLINS

Just started to design a plane.... http://subsonichobby.blogspot.com/2012/12/diy-subsonicdrone-v1.html ... Question ... How did you determine the size of wingtips? I am thinking to put them on my design.

compatable with the size of your plane, for vertical stability don't really have to have em if ya have a good rudder.

A yard stick at the front wheel? Or do you mean a 12 inch ruler? If that is 3' at the nose, that means you've got something like a 9' wingspan - that's one HUGE plane!!!! I hope it does fly!

Yes it is a yard stick and 90" wing with 30" canard I'm still debugging and waiting on weather. If I get the CG close I feel confident it will fly how well ?? we will see. Keep your fingers crossed if the Ding Bat flies I will put a flight on the site with take off and landing with a flight report. If it don't fly you may just get a note here ??? Thanks for the support !!

Holy Cow, that's one big bird! What do you have as a spar in the main wing? An 8' 2x4? :-D

Ha Ha the center section has two arrow shafts cut in half then with threaded end out, there is a carbon rod slide into the shafts and epoxied then two larger rods over the threaded carbon shafts and all that is glued onto the Armin wing using Adams foam board and sign board for extra support then slide on a 30" section of Armin wing on each side and screw it all up tight with a threaded arrow shaft on each side. That give you a total of 90.75". When she flys I'll post a build slide show or Video one. Ed on Experamental has a 100" Photon.
