New VTO video -Plane designed for first time builder/flyer

by balsa or carbon | August 1, 2012 | (13) Posted in Projects

This plane was designed for a first time builder and first time flyer . It is made from two sheets ( cost - $ 2 ! ) of Dollar Tree foam , some hot glue , tape and a couple of sticks ( carbon rod , bamboo skewer , etc. ) .

If built light and with plenty of dihedral it will fly slowly and right itself - and it flies well in a little wind !  In case of a crash , it also protects all your electronics ( especially your motor! ) and prop .

This $ 24.66 motor/ESC/servo combo works well for this plane for a total cost ( not including battery and receiver ) of less than $ 30!  http://www.hobbypartz.com/60p-dy-1006.html

Great plane - maybe add in some commentary next time, it would be nice to hear your thoughts while in the air.

I think that you are getting low ratings because of the fact that you misspelled first in you article title. Good article! Rated 4 stars
