eFlite Apprentice - Bellanca Scout Conversion

by ZippyTheFly | May 17, 2012 | (2) Posted in Projects

Here is my winter project.

I started with an eFlite Apprentice and made some modifications on it.

1) Landing Gear

I changed the tricycle landing gear to a tail dragger one.  I fly on a grassy field and do not wish to mow it during take offs and landings.

2) Larger Motor and ESC

To paraphrase Cpt. Kirk.."Sotty, I need more speed!"

3) Flaps

STOL rules.... that's all I have to say about that. :)

4) Woody Tail

I busted up the tail too often and became too soft.  Going for wood this time.

4) Colour

Yup, new paint job.  Need to look cool when going down.  I specialize in single point landings. ;)

Maiden flight is tonight.  Let you know how it goes.  I'll try to get someone to video the flight.

Zippy.
