Make Your Transmitter's Sticks Smooth.

This is for the few that have to suffer threw the annoying detent some of our gimbals have. This is mainly on airplane throttle sticks.  Well I just recently purchased an old 7mhz computer radio to "bring back to life" with the frsky diy modules. But, unlike the newer transmitters, the throttle stick was LOUD, and seemingly "unsmooth."

Please read threw the article before attempting, the video at the end show another more simple way...The video is done by Nuttcaze on youtube, it is not my video, all credit goes to him!

This operation is very simple, but requires you to take apart you radio! (Do at your own risk.)

REMOVE YOUR BATTERY, and if you have one, remove the crystal.

Basiclly, remove the rear end of your TX. BE CAREFULL OF WIRES ATTACHED TO THE REAR END OF THE TX. PULL IT CAREFULLY!

So i got the radio apart, and i am now looking at the throttle gimbal. The metal bar circled in red is what we will  be working with today.

Go ahead and unscrew it with the correct screwdriver.

Examine it carefully, you should see some sort of triangle indent in that little metal bar....our mission is to strighten it out!

So use you pliers and try and bent that triangle stright.

Reinstall that metal piece back into its original place.

Then test your stick, if it is not to your liking, then bend some more.

You could also sand the little dimples that sit directly underneath of this metal piece. This however is not recomended, because you cant fix it if you went to far.

Here is a video explaining the easyiest way.... NOT MY VIDEO!! It is done my Nuttcaze! He shows a great example on how to make your stick smoother! It is much much easier than what i did, and is another great alternative.

So hopefull you enjoyed, and maybe you might fall back in love with an old radio!
