RedCloud and myself tearing around in our minis.

He is flying a Spidex micro, while I am loving my Minion,
a Carbon Fiber Mini H Quad designed by Pat G.

NAZE acro FC
ZMR 1804 2400kv motors
RCX 10A ESC Brushless Motor Speed Controller (G Series / Programed for Multicopter - SimonK Firmware)

RunCam Sky Camera-2.1mm lens.

200mw 5.8ghzVtrx

1W 2.4ghz booster.

The Minion frame is only 218mm diagonal MTM, 172mm wide and 129mm long MTM and weighs 86g!

The arms where designed in pairs to give them more strength and also to reduce the amount of fasteners needed in assembly, less fasteners mean easier assembly and a lighter frame.

With 100% pure 3K Twill Weave Carbon Fiber it's strong enough to be crash resistant. Nice!

The Minion has been designed around a 36mm size FC board to achieve the smallest size possible but still have it big enough to carry your standard FPV equipment. I have a Naze acro FC and I really like it.

Good to go.

=D Get out there and fly!

Curious, is the h quad a blackout clone? Looks very similar.

They are similar. I can say that I am glad I bought this frame! It is light and well made. I like the arm arrangement. It cost me less and was shipped from Canada so I got it fast.

Hey Zatoichi is that a winter ground station to fly from the car? I need to come up with something like that :)

I don't remember seeing your build before, it is very clean.

It is our in-car GS Pat. ET diversity,SD-DVR and Batt in a slim tupperware fit in a bungee harness inside the car on the roof. Two window poles(tennis ball container radomes). One with a 5.8ghz RX and CP antenna and one with a 1W 2.4ghz booster and 5(i think)dbi antenna.
A lot of my Spidex footage was filmed with this rig.
Thanks for the Kudos! You Rock.

How is that booster working for you? And how far can you push it?
I like to run CP antenas on my Tx just to avoid the 23db or so loss when banking, with the CP on the Tx the max I will loose is 3db ;)

If you look closely you will see that I am using CP antennas for 5.8ghz video and a 5dbi whip for 2.4ghz. There is a black rod for support in the left radome (that looks like a whip)obscuring the SPW and a CL on the minion. (Not a great pic) I have had 0 problems with my booster. It hasn't even gotten warm.=D I am working on putting 910mhz video on my minion. We will see how I like it.

Just out of curiosity could your mini quad handle a gopro on top of all the fpv gear? if so, how well?

Well they are not made for it but lots of people do specially with the new and more powerfull motors. I have seing people flying minis like baths out of hell whith a gopro on it.

Well here is a simple math. This frames can handle well at about 500g 600g it's more on the porky side it will fly sport still but it will probably be about the limit.

Now my minion is 400g with #16 camera and a 1400 40c lipo so if I add a gopro 3 that it's only 60g without case that will be 450g that is well with in the capabilities of the frame.
The gopro 2 is 100g so that one will put my Minion at 500g :)

Hope that answer your question
